David Glasspool, one of Trojans Trek Lead Facilitators, had the privilege of visiting the incredible Stirling Community Shop Inc., formerly the RDNS Shop, which has been a beacon of support for our community since 1960. Following a restructure in 2002, this not-for-profit association was born with a mission to uplift those less fortunate in the Stirling and Mt Barker areas.
A dedicated team of 45 volunteers tirelessly sorts and sells donated items, and their fundraising efforts benefit over 30 organisations, including Trojans Trek. We are thrilled to share that the Shop Committee generously donated $2000 to Trojans Trek, and it was an honour to express our heartfelt thanks to Brenda (Treasurer) and Lois (Chairperson) during my visit.
Lois shared a personal connection as her grandson-in-law, a CFS volunteer, had participated in a Trek and found it to be a transformative experience. Even amidst the bustling morning at the shop, David captured a selfie to commemorate the moment.
If you find yourself in Stirling, pop into the Stirling Community Shop Inc. for fantastic bargains and the chance to meet their excellent staff.
Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of our community members. Thank you for being a part of this heartwarming journey!
